Apollo 11 command module training. US astronaut Michael Collins (born 1930) training in a simulated model of the Apollo command module in preparation for the Apollo 11 mission. The Apollo 11 mission (16-24 July 1969) was the first landing by humans on the Moon, with Armstrong and Aldrin descending to the surface in the LM, while the third crew member Michael Collins remained in orbit in the Command Module. This training took place at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA. Training began after the crew were selected in 1967. | |
