Kennedy (back to camera) talks with George Low (Chief of Manned Space Flight) and two Gemini astronauts, Gordon Cooper and Gus Grissom. Kennedy is shown the Gemini capsule and from 0:40s onwards is at left standing next to Cooper (centre) and Grissom (right). This was Kennedy's third visit to Cape Canaveral, taking place a week before his assassination. During this tour, Kennedy was also briefed on the Apollo programme and took an aerial tour of the facility. The site was renamed the Kennedy Space Center in his honour on 29 November 1963. |
