Milky Way and radio telescope dish. Time-lapse footage of the stars of the Milky Way above the dish of the Swedish-ESO sub-millimetre telescope (SEST). SEST, a radio telescope, has a diameter of 15 metres. It was built in 1987 and decommissioned in 2003, and is located at ESO's (European Southern Observatory's) La Silla Observatory in the Atacama desert, Chile. A notable subject in this clip is a meteor and its persistent train.
