Atlas V launch of OTV-2. Footage of the launch on 5 March 2011 of an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, carrying the unmanned Orbital Test Vehicle 2 (OTV-2) into Earth orbit. The OTV-2 is a spaceplane developed by the United States Air Force (USAF). It operated in orbit for over a year, landing on 16 June 2012. The footage shows the Atlas V rocket on the SLC-41 launch pad, surrounded by lightning protection masts. The OTV-2 spacecraft is inside the rocket faring (upper section).
