Floating inside Node 1, Unity, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko (centre) helps NASA flight engineer 2 Dan Tani to get into his EVA suit in preparation for an expedition 16 spacewalk outside the International Space Station. Station commander Peggy Whitson (left) already partially suited up looks on. The pair are held steady in frames which their life support backpacks are attached to. Tani's snoopy cap floats around his head as Malenchenko adjusts Tani's under garment cuffs - making sure they fit comfortably before he starts to fit the glove assembly. Tani tests the flexibility of his elbow joints and attaches some tape to his hands before donning the snoopy cap and making fine adjustments. Malenchenko hands him some fingerless mittens which Tani puts on next. Malenchenko then adjusts Tani's waist ring joint and takes a look at the checklist. Next to be fitted are Tani's over gloves, the cuff rings proving a particular struggle for Malenchenko to complete. With Tani's over gloves on Malenchenko turns to help Whitson on with hers.
