Distant view of the tumbling upper SIV-B stage of the Apollo 7 Saturn 1B rocket viewed from the Command Module. The doors at the top of the stage, designed to house the Lunar Module on future missions, are open forming a cross pattern. Their appearance lead to the rocket being dubbed the angry alligator by the crew. The J2 engine at the bottom of the stage can be seen and the letters USA. Date recorded: 1968-10-11 to 1968-10-22
