Veil Nebula. View of the Veil nebula, panning across the expanses of hot interstellar gas and dust, shaped by the shockwave from the explosion of a dying star. The Veil Nebula is the remains of a supernova that is thought to have exploded around 8000 years ago. It is located in the constellation Cygnus, approximately 2100 light years from Earth. This imagery was created from Wide Field Camera 3 observations by the Hubble Space Telescope. | |
