Bioplastics are plastics that are derived from renewable biomass sources,such as vegetable oil or corn starch. This film is made using electroactive polymers (EAPs) that change shape and/or size when stimulated by electricity. It is hoped they may be used in biomedical applications,specialized sensors,light-emitting diodes,and even the next generation of robotic Mars rovers.
