Long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) using a rock to open shellfish. This monkey has been observed using stone tools to open both shellfish and nuts, and they are also known to wash some foods before eating them. It has a wide range across Southeast Asia, inhabiting rainforests, coasts and scrub, and it has adapted well to life in urban environments also. Filmed on the Koh Kho Ram island, off the east coast of Thailand. | |
