Juvenile spotted eagle owl (Bubo africanus) rotating its head in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park of Southern Africa. Owls are able to rotate their heads 270 degrees, without damaging their tendons or tearing blood vessel linings, due to a combination of a unique bone structure and a highly developed vascular system. | |
