Flowers of Brunfelsia grandiflora, a medicinal plant native to the forests of northern South America. This plant is a member of the nightshade family, and contains numerous alkaloid chemicals that have medicinal and psychoactive properties. Preparations are used by indiginous people in religious ceremonies, and to treat fevers. It is also added to the psychoactive brew ayahuasca, and is said to cause hallucinations in its own right.
