Convex mirror. Animation of a plane (flat) mirror turning into a convex spherical mirror and then returning to normal. The parallel tubes on the table in front of the mirror illustrate how the reflected image changes, and the blue cube demonstrates the reduction in size of the image. The image does not reverse as seen in a concave mirror. Convex spherical mirrors are used when a wide field of view is needed. Examples include security mirrors in shops, mirrors on roads with sharp bends, and mirrors in cars. | |
