Young Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) lying in snow, grooming itself. The Amur leopard is critically endangered in the wild, occupying only a small region near the borders between eastern Russia, North Korea and China. There are more Amur leopards in captivity than in the wild, and breeding programs are in place to help maintain the population. This leopard is nine months old, one of a trio of kittens born in April 2014. Filmed in Tallinn Zoo, Estonia. | |
