Transition between aerial images of Canary Wharf taken in the middle of the 20th century and in 2011. Until 1980, this area, the Isle of Dogs, was a working port. From 1988, construction began on a massive office development, which includes many of the UK's tallest buildings, and is a global financial centre. The long shadows at top at the end of the clip reveal the height of the buildings. Over the river, at top right, is the Millennium Dome, on the Greenwish Peninsula.
