Molecular collisions and enzymes. Animation illustrating how reactions that proceed slowly by random collisions can occur at an increased rate by the use of an enzyme. The clips starts by showing molecules moving inside a box, colliding and reacting at a slow rate. Towards the end of the clip, an enzyme is introduced (large macromolecule) that speeds up the reaction by bringing the reactants together. This is shown conceptually in the form of a robot bringing two of the reactant molecules together. | |
