Black capped chickadees (Poecile atricapillus) and male cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis) taking turns landing on branch in search of seeds on cold, snowy day in Ohio. This is the northernmost cardinal species and is found throughout the eastern U.S., southeastern Canada, and eastern Mexico. Males have much more vibrant colors than females and are slightly larger in size. Chickadees are found throughout the northern U.S. and southern Canada. | |
