Light microscopy of a Hydra spewing out waste from its mouth, which also serves as it anus, at the base of its tentacles. Hydra is a multi-cellular predator several millimetres in length, which catches small invertebrate prey with its stinging tentacles. It can be found in freshwater ponds, lake and streams throughout much of the world. Recorded under Rheinberg illumination. | |
