The King Oak (Danish: Kongeegen), said to be the oldest living organism in Europe. Its age has been estimated to be as much as 2000 years old. The King Oak (Quercus sp.) is found in the Jaegerspris Nordskov forest on the Danish island Zealand. It is thought that it initially grew in an open meadow, due to its low spread, and it has now been overgrown by taller trees, which are shading it. | |
