Zoom out from the Antennae Galaxies. These galaxies are colliding with each other, a process that has greatly distorted their original shapes. The collision has also caused a burst of starbirth, seen as the pink regions, in which hydrogen gas glows due to the radiation from hot young stars still embedded within it. The Antennae lie around 45 million light years from Earth in the constellation Corvus.<br>Restrictions: |
