A view of some of the petroglphys found on ''newspaper rock, '' a rock slab in Utah that is one of the most prolific sites for Native American rock art. Many of these glyphs date back to the time of the Anasazi, a thousand or more years ago. While many figures are recognizable, no one today knows their original significance or why they were created. The location of these petroglyphs is near a stream and a trail, suggesting that the glyphs may have been carved by ancient travelers, traders and hunters passing this way. | |
