These African clawed frogs (Xenopus laevis) have nearly completed metamorphosis. Only tiny tales remain from tadpole stage. This species is found throughout most of Africa, and is important in research. It gets part of its name from the claws on its hind feet which are used to stir up mud to hide from predators. | |
