Illustration of the paths of the named storms during the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season. Sea surface temperatures, from blue (low), through green, yellow and orange to red (high), and liquid precipitation rates, from green (low), through yellow and orange to red (high), are shown for the 15th November 2022. The season ran from the 5th June to the 11th November with a total of 14 named storms. This was the third costliest season on record, mostly due to Hurricane Ian, which caused extensive damage in both Cuba and Florida, USA, in September.
