Light micrograph of a seminoma. Seminoma is a tumour derived from germ cells that most commonly occurs in the testis. Characteristic microscopic features of seminoma include cells with rounded nuclei (blue-purple dots) and clear (white) cytoplasm. In between groups of seminoma cells are fibrous bands (pink) containing lymphocytes (smaller blue dots). Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10cm. | |
