Tyndall scattering. Light scattering by small particles (about the size of wavelength) in a colloid or suspension is called the Tyndall effect. Here an LED flashlight is shining on a tank with water that has several drops of milk added. Milk contains tiny globules of fat which form a suspension. Scattered light is observed perpendicular to the light propagation direction. | |
