Light micrograph of two glomeruli (round structures at upper left and lower right, occupying most of the image) in a kidney affected by diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). There are several sclerotic nodules (blue solid circles), a pattern which is seen in diabetic nephropathy almost exclusively. The diabetic sclerotic nodule in the lower right glomerulus is quite large and occupies nearly the entire area of the glomerulus. Trichrome stained tissue section. Magnification: x200 when printed at 10cm wide.
