Light micrograph of a longitudinally sectioned skeletal muscle. The striated muscle fibres are multinucleated with the nuclei displaced towards the periphery. Sometimes, some fibres have the nuclei in the centre, this is because the cut has tangentially affected the myocyte. The fibres at centre show the characteristic striation of skeletal muscle cells.
