Composite image of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 3351. Data from several observatories have been combined to show details of the galaxy's stars and dust. Dense molecular gas (magenta) was imaged with radio observations by Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimetre Array (ALMA). Young massive stars (red) where imaged by the Very Large Telescope's Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) instrument. Dust lanes (white) and newly formed stars (blue) were imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). NGC 3351 is located 33 million light years from Earth, in the constellation Leo. | |
