The cancerous cells in this picture are mostly present as individual cells (blue) and are separate in that they do not stick together to form glands. This indicates that this patient’s cancer is of a high grade (Gleason grade 5), and is more likely to act aggressively by invading nearby structures or metastasizing to other body sites.
