Lead carbonate precipitate, 3 of 3. Ammonium carbonate ((NH4)2CO2) is poured into a beaker containing lead(II) nitrate (Pb(NO3)2). Both solutions are clear and have 0.2M concentrations. White lead(II) carbonate precipitate (PbCO3) is formed: Pb(NO3)2 + (NH4)2CO3 -> PbCO3 + NH4NO3. This is an example of a double displacement reaction. | |
