Coloured computed tomography (CT) scan in axial section of a 46 year old female patient with a subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH). SAH is a rare, life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain (subarachnoid space). There is a hyperdense hemorrhagic focus fronto-left hemispheric in relation to a ruptured aneurysm next to the left middle cerebral artery (MCA), with compressive effect on the ventricular structures (dilation of the right temporal horn and complete obliteration of the left temporal horn), haemorrhage of the 4th ventricle. | |
