Andre Marie Ampere (January 20, 1775 - June 10, 1836) was a French physicist, chemist, and mathematician. Ampere established the science of electromagnetism and developed a mathematical theory which not only described the electromagnetic phenomena already observed, but also predicted many new ones. His name is one of the 72 names inscribed on the Eiffel Tower. | |
