Positive Covid-19 antibody test. Rapid lateral flow test for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies showing a positive result both for Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and Immunoglobulin M (IgM). The dark pink line at upper right of the test is the control to confirm the test has been conducted correctly. The two pale pink lines next to the 'G' and 'M' indicate the presence of both IgG and IgM. IgM suggests that the patient has a recent (typically within 7-14 days) response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the causative agent of Covid-19. IgG shows a longer-lasting immune response. This could be seen in a patient around 14-21 days from infection, or a recently-infected patient who has also received a vaccine. This lateral flow test produces a result in ten minutes. | |
