Caesium chloride and potassium hexacyanoferrate, polarised light micrograph. Caesium chloride is used in biology for separating different types of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), whilst potassium hexacyanoferrate is used to detect the presence of iron. This is a mixture of the two chemicals imaged in polarised light. Magnification: x70 when printed 10 centimetres wide. | |
