Light micrograph section showing a stage 2 transitional cell cancer of the bladder. Otherwise as urothelial carcinoma, it is a type of cancer that typically occurs in the urinary system. It is the most common type of bladder cancer and cancer of the ureter, urethra and urachus. With stage 2 the cancer has spread into the thick muscle wall of the bladder. It is also called invasive cancer or muscle-invasive cancer. This means the tumour has not reached the fatty tissue surrounding the bladder and has not spread to the lymph nodes or other organs. | |
