| Proposed life cycle for microbial life on Venus in the temperate atmospheric zone at an altitude of 45 to 60km. 1. Organisms are dried out and hibernate in haze layer. These are called spores. 2. Winds blow the dessicated organisms upwards into the temperate zone. 3. Liquid (sulphuric acid and some water) condenses on the spores, which germinate. 4. For many months, the hydrated microbes remain aloft and reproduce. 5. As the droplet collide, they merge and grow in size, until gravity forces them down and out of the temperate zone. Here, the liquid evaporates and the microbes within develop into dormant spores, starting the process from the beginning. | |
