The Pale-striped Poison Frog (Ameerega hahneli) is relatively common in the leaf litter of wet forests throughout the upper Amazon Basin. This species can grow to just over 2cm total length. They are most active just before dark but do call throughout the day. They can be differentiated with the syntopic A. femoralis in that A. hahneli has a black ventral color with blue marbling; A. femoralis just has black and white marbling. This individual was photographed in the Amazon Basin of Peru, 2019. | |
