The Amazon Coastal House Snake (Thamnodynastes pallidus) loves eating frogs particularly frogs of the genus Sphaenorhynchus. They are common in foliage around pools and ponds. A rear fanged snake, the bite from this reptile feels like a wasp sting. This individual was observed around a pool in a tract of rainforest off of the main branch of the Amazon River, Loreto, Peru, 2018. | |
