Typical of many cancer cells the nucleus is enlarged and multilobed, the cell walls are covered in projections and the cytoplasm contains a large number of organelles including lipid droplets. This is typical of the chaotic and disorganised growth of cancers. Bladder cancers usually arise in the internal lining of the bladder. Symptoms include blood in the urine. Treatment involves excision of affected tissues, and then chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Magnification: x 3500 when printed at 10cm wide. | |
