Thalassodromeus sethi pterosaurs hunting, illustration. This flying reptile had one of the proportionally largest cranial crests of any vertebrate. The crest is thought to have developed when the animal reached sexual maturity and so was probably used for sexual display, although some think it may also have had a role in thermoregulation. T. sethi lived in what is now Brazil around 110 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous. | |
