Sturge-Weber syndrome in a 22-year-old man. This congenital (present from birth) condition affects the brain, nerves and skin. The most common visible sign of the syndrome is a port-wine stain affecting one half of the face, seen here as the reddened area at right. Growths known as angiomas can form in and around the brain, leading to seizures and conditions such as glaucoma. | |
