Top down view of a flame shoulder moth (Ochropleura plecta) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is June and July and again in September and October. This species is easily recognised by the straw coloured bands on the wings and is a member of the Noctuidae family,found throughout England,though not in Scotland. The larval food plants are docks and plantains. Photographed in Somerset,UK,in May. | |
