Stroke and brain damage. Coloured axial computed tomography (CT) scan through the brain of a 37-year-old woman who has had a cerebravascular accident (CVA, stroke). High blood pressure and a severe headache were followed by a coma. The scan shows the presence of a large mass of internal bleeding (haematoma, orange, centre left) into the right side of the patient's brain, affecting the parieto-occipital area of the brain. | |
