Jupiter (brightest) and Mars (dimmer, just to the right of Jupiter) in a very close conjunction (about 16 arc minutes or 1/4 degree apart) on the morning of January 6, 2018. The double star Alpha Librae, or Zubenelgenubi, is to the right of the planet pair and resolved here. Two of the moons of Jupiter are also resolved. Twilight and moonlight illuminate the sky and ground. | |
