Nyctosaurus, illustration. Pterosaurs were flying reptiles that ruled the prehistoric skies and often had crested heads. The longest crest of all belonged to a pterosaur called Nyctosarus that soared over the seas. It was a huge, Y-Shaped crest, nearly four times as long as the rest of the skull. No other animal of the Mesozoic era grew a crest this large. | |
