Texas rainbow cactus in flower, Echinocereus dasyacanthus. Called rainbow because of the banding of differently coloured spines on stem. Pink flowered forms are also known. Native to Chihuahuan Desert regions of TX, NM and AZ south into Mexico. Sometimes referred to in literature as E. pectinatus var. neomexicanus. Photo of a cultivated plant. | |
