Metastatic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in a 77-year-old man, resulting in swollen lymph nodes and metastases in the neck. This is a form of lymph cancer (lymphoma). The lymphatic system is an important part of the immune system, which protects the body from disease and infection. Spread of the cancer impairs the immune system, leading to death from infections. The prognosis is poor without an early diagnosis. Treatments with radiotherapy and chemotherapy precede the last resort of a bone marrow transplant. | |
