Iron (II) phosphate precipitate, 3 of 3. This series shows a progression as iron (II) sulphate (FeSO4) is added to a test tube containing sodium phosphate (Na3PO4). Both solutions are 0.5 M concentration. Iron (II) phosphate precipitate (Fe3(PO4)2) is formed as a result: FeSO4 + Na3PO4 -> Fe3(PO4)2 + Na2SO4. This is an example of a double displacement reaction. | |
