There is a normal blind spot in a human eye. It is a small area where the optic nerve leads from the back of the eye to the brain. To find this blind spot, view the image at arm's length, cover the left eye and stare at the red pepper (left) with your right eye. Move the image toward you until the yellow pepper disappears. To find the blind spot on the in your left eye, cover your right eye and stare at the yellow pepper (right) and adjust the distance to the image until the red pepper disappears. IMPORTANT: When published the centres of peppers should be approximately two and one-half inches apart (6.35 centimetres) for this demonstration to work. | |
