Lead iodide precipitate, 4 of 4. Lead (II) nitrate (Pb(NO3)2) is poured into a beaker containing potassium iodide (KI). Both solutions are clear and have 0.2 M concentrations. Yellow lead (II) iodide precipitate (PbI2) is formed: KI + Pb(NO3)2 -> PbI2 + KNO3. This is an example of a double displacement reaction. | |
