Marcus Claudius Marcellus (42 BC-23 BC), Roman aristocrat. Marcellus was nephew to Augustus, the first Emperor of Rome, and cousin of the future second emperor Tiberius. Marcellus died young from an illness. He was cremated and his ashes interred in the Mausoleum of Augustus. His life was celebrated by Virgil in the 'Aeneid'.
